We are supporting the David Idowu Peace Event in London

We are happy to say that, alongside our friends, Active Communities Network, we will be working closely with the David Idowu Foundation, Southwark Council and local partners on the 2014 ‘David Idowu Peace Event’.David Idowu Peace Event 2014

Taking place on Saturday July 12th between 12pm-6pm at Tabard Gardens, Tabard Street, London, SE1, just a short walk from Borough High Street and Borough underground station, the event aims to engage young people in positive activities whilst promoting positive relationships in the community.

David was on his way to deliver a speech urging young people to give up knife crime and would have been 21 years old this year.

The David Idowu Foundation, a charity, is geared towards supporting and advising children to stay away from trouble, eradicating school rivalries and gang cultures. The event will see DJ workshops, sport activities, information stalls, face painting, fun activities, refreshments and even a bouncy castle for visitors to enjoy, supported by Southwark Young Advisors,  One Life, Southwark Council, London Fire Brigade,  Blackfriars Settlement and the Metropolitan Police amongst many other local partners..
