Overmars is looking forward to playing at Paradise in the MAESTRIO charity game.
During his playing career, Marc Overmars was an exceptionally talented player, who starred for Ajax, Barcelona and Arsenal, as well as for the Dutch national side.
The football legend was without doubt when Rio asked him to raise money for his foundation.
Overmars announced that he was to coming out of retirement to play and it meant something special for him to be asked to play for charity along other legends at no other place than Celtic Park.
Not Found“So many footballers from different clubs and nationalities will be at Celtic Park to support the Celtic FC Foundation and the Rio Ferdinand Foundation,” Said the former winger. “I am very proud to be lining up with players like Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs, Gianfranco Zola and Lubomir Moravcik to help this event and support young people facing severe problems.”

Being familiar with the work in the community Celtic does was another great reason for the legend to say yes to play in the charity match.
“I know the Celtic fans, and indeed football fans regardless of club allegiances,” He said. ”They will get behind this fantastic cause, and Celtic Park is such a great setting for such an occasion. I look forward to being there.”
