Rio Ferdinand Foundation supports young people to gain qualifications
Over the past few weeks, the Rio Ferdinand Foundation have been supporting a group of young people to gain Football Coaching qualifications and additional training in Equality and Diversity, and Inclusive Coaching.
The FA Level 1 coaching course went extremely well, with over 20 successful candidates passing the course! Even despite the weather!! Our FA tutor Lucy was fantastic and had us powering through the mud and rain, working hard to learn the fundamentals of coaching and some fun exercises to use in our sessions.
We are very grateful for the help of our friends at the University of Salford in offering a venue to host the qualification. And to the Media City team for letting us use their pitch for our further training. They’ve asked us to help publicise some of their health and fitness opportunities:

That is all happening in Room 3.08 in the University Building. This is a perfect chance for people to take that first step, with regards to fitness class participation (within this unique format) and not only that …get the opportunity to engage and interact with the University Sport’s Centre projects, which are now on your (Studying and Working) doorstep!

Football – Thursday 5th March start £30.00 per fixture (6pm-9pm – Currently FULL, but there WILL be an extra night added)

These will take place adjacent to Love Conquers All, who serves up some absolutely superb beverages, and we are talking from experience (we are talking about non-alcoholic ones obviously……)
AND…………Run England MediaCityUk Mile – Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 1pm – FREE to join. – Led by qualified UoS Sports Centre Staff, who are Run England leaders. So what are you waiting for?
