RFF Youth Leaders Deliver After School Projects at Lark Hill Primary School in Salford!

The Rio Ferdinand Foundation in Salford have been helping young people from a local high school to fundraise, plan and deliver four after school projects in Lark Hill Primary School, Salford. The students of UTCMediaCityUk have successfully raised just under £2,000 through our Youth Leaders Programme!!! Providing the children of Lark Hill Primary school with after school activities for the next 10 weeks.

Projects ran by our Youth Leaders will involve music, film, drama, gaming design and a quiz show!!! Through these workshops our Youth Leaders aim to raise awareness of important issues such as bullying, equal opportunities for all and issues around stereotyping. Interactive workshops will also teach key skills within teamwork, communication and presentation. Most importantly they will be so much fun!!!

Next week the UTC Media City students will present each project to the Year 6 students of Lark Hill and all projects will commence on the 23rd of May up until the 15th of July with a final celebration event held at The Lowry Theatre in Media City on Wednesday the 27th of July!

We are very excited for the final showcase which will celebrate all of the amazing achievements of everyone involved – Youth Leaders are already planning their Oscars Award Ceremony!

Our Youth Leaders Programme aims to to help build key employability skills and practical hands on work experience to introduce new pathways and opportunities for young people aged 14-25 into either further training, work placements or employment.
