RFF Support Girls Multi Sports Event In Salford!!!

On Wednesday the 11th of May the Rio Ferdinand Foundation, Street Games, Manchester United Foundation, Salford Red Devils and Salford Community Leisure all came together to deliver a Girls Multi Sports event forĀ over 30 girls from Salford.

404 Not Found The event ran from 4pm to 6pm and was held at the Salford Sports Village off Littleton Road, Salford. There were many great activities and sports on offer for the girls to get involved with including Football sessions provided by the Manchester United Foundation, Rugby delivered by Salford Red Devils, Boxercise aided by Great Britain’s very own gold medal winning female boxer Crystal Barker and dodgeball facilitated by Salford Community Leisure!

The event was hosted by one of Manchester’s up and coming young female artists, LAY!!! Who did a fantastic job of keeping the girls encouraged and motivated throughout. It was great to see so many young women taking part in all of the different sports activities in the Salford sunshine!

It was also amazing to see so any inspirational women involved in the running and organising of this one off event. Sharing their knowledge and experiences and helping to provide positive role modelsĀ to the young people on the day.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all our volunteers who took part in our accredited Level 2 Sports Leaders Award! To gain their certificates and pass the course these young people volunteered their time within this local community project. With this work experience opportunity accomplished these young people will also be taking part in our free First Aid Workshop on the 18th of June in partnership with the YMCA. The help from our young volunteers is essential and we are really grateful for all of their time and support!
