Rio Ferdinand And Jamal Edwards go Head To Head In FIFA Showdown at Private Cinema In London!

On Tuesday 31st of May Rio Ferdinand and Jamal Edwards MBE came together at a private cinema in Soho House, London, to raise money for the Rio Ferdinand Foundation.  The event, which ran from 12pm – 4pm, saw Rio and Jamal alongside a team of pro-gamers, celebs and competition winners, including KSI, Joe Black, Tobi Brown and Manny Brown going head to head in a FIFA16 showdown supported by XBox and EASports!!!
The tournament was full of goals, fouls, fun and laughter and all for a great cause!
We sat down with Rio and his team to get their view on the day’s events,It has been a really good day! It didn’t start out too good for me, after being destroyed 3 – 0 in the first round but luckily the rest of my team came to my rescue and helped claw it back!
When asked which team on FIFA16 was his team of choice Rio said:
I’ve been liking Bayern Munch at the moment, they have been really strong for me recently.
With the Euro 2016 just around the corner we took the opportunity to ask Rio his opinion on the potential winners of the tournament and England’s latest goal scoring teenage prodigy, Marcus Rashford:
I’m going for France for the win……[For England] I would definitely take Rashford to the Euros, he’s got quality and could make a real impact off the bench!
IMG_20160531_154700Rio’s team mate and pro-gamer Tobi Brown quotes, The venue is really cool! It has been a lot of fun and really entertaining to be a part of the tournament and also fun to watch other people playing FIFA16 and enjoying themselves for a good cause!
Rio’s team took the win but his rival team captain Jamal Edwards put in a shift during the showdown and had this to say about the event:
Today has been fun! It is really nice to see everyone and to address some serious issues in a fun and creative way.  The venue is really cool and to be able to come together for such a good cause has been special.
Youtube legend KSI was beaten 2 -1 by young Bailey in the final game of the tournament but managed to win ‘Goal Of The Tournament’ after hitting a 30 yard screamer! KSI said I’ve had a good time, it’s been cool chilling and playing FIFA for a good cause.
Everybody at the Rio Ferdinand Foundation would like to say a huge thank you to all the participants and supporters of this great cause. A massive thank you Orange Street Media Management for being the official sponsor of the event, to everyone at Kickr for running the campaign and for 5 Star Active and PEChauffeurs amongst many others for support
To be able to bring so many influential people together and raise money for young people which will provide even more positive opportunities for the future generation is fantastic!!!
