RFF Employability and Work Placement Programme is a massive success in Salford!

For the past 2 weeks the Rio Ferdinand Foundation have teamed up with Hideaway Youth Project and Intu Trafford Centre to run a free Employability and Work Placement Programme for 10 young people from Salford and Moss Side.

The programme included coaching life-skills and employability training with 2 free accredited qualifications in First Aid and a L1 Employability and Enterprise alongside RFF partners Flying Futures. Our second week involved a work placement with Intu Trafford Centre staff shadowing staff members within customer service, security and community development!

404 Not Found Participant Alice quotes “Over the summer break usually I’ve not got anything to do, coming here every day has been brilliant. I’ve learnt so many important skills to help me get a job, we’ve done mock interviews, presentations and the work placement at the Trafford Centre is an incredible addition to my c.v! I’ve made new contacts and feel more confident about getting out there and finding a job. On the last day we did Ariel Extreme which was so much fun and built skills within team work – I’m made such great friends and on the final day we raised over £300 for both the Rio Ferdinand Foundation and Hideaway Youth Project!”

This programme has been such a great success, with learners encouraged to progress within paid apprenticeships, further training and employment. The Foundation would like to thank our partners at Hideaway Moss Side, Intu Trafford Centre and Flying Futures for all of their time and continued support.
