RFF involved in landmark launch event for cross-border strategy in Ireland

RFF are thrilled to be involved in this landmark launch event for a new cross border strategy in Ireland. Our partners, Active Communities Network, together with the Laureus Sport for Good Foundtion and the Mary Robinson Centre are launching this strategy following several years of delivery and evidence-based learning in Belast and across various locations in the Republic. The framework, now also being rolled out in Pakistan, India and Lebanon, is fast becoming a global model of best practise for building local capacity, improving community cohesion and supporting at risk youth to achieve.

Joining us at this sold-out event will be representatives from the global sport for development sector including all of our 5 Star Active partners, a host of professional athletes and sporting ambassadors, ministers and politicians, local community organisations and sports clubs, practitioners, policy makers and strategists together with local and international businesses such as our partner BT. We are hugely excited to be involved.

‘Sport is a driver of social change, for individuals and communities around the world, and I am very aware of the great work ¬†and best practice emerging from Ireland north and south. As my Foundation prepares to initiate work in Belfast, I am very happy to lend my support to this important launch for both Ireland and our global colleagues.

Unfortunately I cannot be at the event due to work commitments, but my Foundation will be in attendance on my behalf, and I wish everyone involved in Ballina the very best for what I know will be a significant educational, informative and enjoyable event’.
