UTC Year 10 girls Celebrate Sports Coaching Qualification on #RFF Youth Leaders Programme in Salford!

Today we hosted a celebration ceremony for our all-girls football programme that has been running for 6 months in Salford.

The girls designed their own sports programme, did a first aid workshop and will gain a coaching qualification at the end. The girls will then use all these skills they have learnt to deliver football sessions for young people at a Primary School.

“We are really proud of the girls’ achievements on this programme so far, they’ve worked very hard to design their own all girls football programme! UTC doesn’t have a girl’s football team, so this is the first of many hopefully! With the skills and the knowledge that they have gained over the past 6 months, they’re going to be taking part in a work placement opportunity with a local primary school, coaching younger children multi sports! The girls are incredible role models, who will inspire the next generation of youth leaders – well done!”

“I liked making new friends with people I haven’t spoken to before. I work better as a team now, and I’m going to get a qualification that will benefit me in the long run as well.”
