Inspiring Youth Leaders – Supporting Young People to Achieve

The Rio Ferdinand Foundation is proud to publish the final independent evaluation of our Inspiring Youth Leaders programme. With support from the National Lottery Community Fund, we have spent the last three years working with some amazing young people from Salford, Moss Side and Hulme. Building on their passions and ambitions we used sports, arts and media to gain qualifications, work experience and develop and deliver their own community projects. Young people have learnt important skills, developed new and lasting connections with employers and their communities and unleashed some inspirational entrepreneurial talent for a brighter future.

Learning from our programme has been shared with local, regional and national partners and informed a number of exciting new initiatives that Rio Ferdinand Foundation will be announcing in the coming months in both Greater Manchester and London.

Our young leaders have achieved great things including sitting on the Greater Manchester Youth Combined Authority, working with the Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham, and strategic stakeholders, ensuring the voice of young people is being heard and helping to shape future policy across the city region. We couldn’t be more proud
