Rio Ferdinand Foundation  and Phoenix Sports Media team up to increase employment and skills opportunities for young people.

Rio Ferdinand Foundation and the Phoenix Sport Media (PSM) Group are proud to announce a new training partnership that will deliver training, skills and employment opportunities to young people in the UK.

The Covid19 pandemic has especially hit young people and those living in economically-deprived communities, and we recognise that opportunities for people to build skills and access training and meaningful career pathways will be essential in rebuilding and levelling up communities, people and the economy.

Partnering the expertise of the Rio Ferdinand Foundation, in engaging and supporting young people and delivering training and social action programmes, with the experience and expertise of Phoenix Sports Media in the training and apprenticeship sector (through it’s PSM Training division) will provide an integrated framework of progression and career opportunities across a range of industries.

Gary Stannett, CEO of the Rio Ferdinand Foundation said:

“The Rio Ferdinand Foundation is committed to supporting young people in all areas of their development, and particularly in finding pathways to achieve their potential in life.

We are very pleased to announce this partnership with the team at PSM Training to create a structured and integrated pathway to enable young people to build confidence, skills and experience and open careers opportunities across a range of industries”

Carly Barnes, CEO of the Phoenix Sport Media Group said:

“At PSM Training we have an extremely skilled team with significant experience of training and apprenticeships and with a national network of employers in industries related to sports, media and the digital sector.

We are proud to be working with the Rio Ferdinand Foundation to build a pathway from engagement to meaningful employment that can be implemented across the UK and contribute to supporting those most impacted by the Covid19 pandemic”
