On Tuesday 12th December, RRFManchester held its first Youth Achievers steering forum. Here at the Rio Ferdinand Foundation we are youth lead, so we invited 10 of the young people from Salford, Moss side and Hulme we have worked alongside in various projects to KickAir Trampoline Park. The main aim of the forum was for the young people we work with to help shape future opportunities the Foundation delivers as creative advisors!

We spent one hour discussing topics such as; the structure of our Youth Leaders Programme, how we can document our youth leaders projects and what support we can offer after the youth leaders programme is complete. This was over pizza and ice cream before spending the second hour going wild in the park.

We wanted to congratulate the young people on all the hard work and effort they have put into the Foundation. We are super proud and honoured to work with such enthusiastic, hard working individuals and we want to make sure that we are doing the best we can with the programmes we run.  It also acted as an opportunity for many of the young people we work with to meet each other and network. ‘It was so much fun, I loved KickAir and I got to meet new people’ said Boshra who attended.

It’s incredibly important to us here at RFFManchester that the programmes we deliver are designed around the needs of what the young people of Manchester and Salford want, so for that reason we will be meeting with our steering group every 3 months to check in.

RFFManchester would like to thank our funders Big Lottery for enabling us to put on this opportunity.
