Rio Ferdinand Foundation announce perfect partnership with The Gym Group

The Gym Group and Rio Ferdinand Foundation are really pleased to announce a brand new and exciting partnership!

The partnership will see The Gym Group support the Rio Ferdinand Foundation in the great work they do with young people and local communities.   The initial focus will be communities in South London and they will partner together to deliver the RFF community programmes.  These programmes ensure young people gain valuable employability skills, understand what careers are available in the fitness and leisure industry as well as gaining the Community Sports Leaders accreditation at the end of the programme.  For those who do fully complete the programme and show a real desire to gain their Level 2 & Level 3 PT qualifications, they will be guaranteed an interview with a view to attain actual Fitness Trainer roles with The Gym Group  #FindYourFuture

Richard Darwin CEO of The Gym Group:

“I am delighted that The Gym Group is partnering with the Rio Ferdinand Foundation.  This partnership will enable us to help young people realise their full potential and support tackling inequality in our communities. At its heart it is something we believe in passionately -  promoting the importance of health and wellbeing.  I am looking forward to seeing the programme in action and welcoming the first cohorts into our gyms.”

Rio Ferdinand, founder of the Foundation:

“I am proud to announce this collaboration between my Foundation and the Gym Group to support young people into careers in the fitness industry. It has never been more important for businesses to invest and support young people to build their skills and employability, and offer real opportunities for jobs, and this collaboration is a great example of how business can work with Foundations and communities to make a real difference.

I would like to thank the Gym Group for bringing their vision and drive to the Foundation as part of our growing business network,  and I look forward to getting involved in this partnership and seeing the results over this initial one year period.”.
